Third-string quarterback Stephen McGee wasn’t pretty, but he didn’t make any costly mistakes.

McGee finished with 127 yards and a touchdown, and was also the team’s second-leading rusher.

While the win comes against a team resting its starters, it’s not like the Cowboys weren’t without a number of key players.

With the win, interim head coach Jason Garrett may have saved his job and get a contract extension.

The Cowboys blew a chance for their third straight win when Roy Williams fumbled late in the fourth quarter.

The fumble allowed the Saints offense to come back out onto the field, and they promptly scored the game-winning touchdown.

Despite the loss and the way it happened, the Cowboys have to be encouraged by the Jason Garrett era.

The team is playing much harder than they did for Wade Phillips, and Garrett seems comfortable in his new role.

Romo was injured when he was slammed to the turf after throwing a pass. He immediately came out of the game and did not return.

The quarterback did try to return to the field moments later, but the training staff pulled him back onto the sidelines.

Some reports say Romo will miss three-to-six weeks while others say 8-10. Either way, Dallas’ season is pretty much over.

Veteran Jon Kitna came on in relief of Romo and actually played really well to keep the Cowboys in the game.

The Cowboys are off to a 1-4 start after being labeled Super Bowl contenders prior to the start of the season.

The team has quickly fallen behind in an NFC East race that hasn’t exactly featured great play thus far.

If Jones were to fire Phillips, he would have to replace him with an internal coach, and no one jumps to mind.

Phillips is the defensive coordinator while the offensive coordinator, Jason Garrett, has seen his stock drop dramatically.

Coming into the game, Dallas knew that another loss would probably mean the end to their season.

The Cowboys were determined not to let that happen, and had a great week of practice leading up to the game.

Despite a poor game from wide receiver Miles Austin, the offense was able to move the ball thanks to Roy Williams.

Give a lot of credit to the defense for holding an explosive, diverse offense in check throughout the game.

The Cowboys yet again had a problem protecting quarterback Tony Romo and giving him time to throw.

Coming into the game, the Cowboys knew there would be problems keeping Julius Peppers off of Romo, and it came to fruition.

What the Cowboys didn’t expect was for their defense to play so poorly after such a strong effort against the Redskins.

The Cowboys are fortunate that every team in the NFC East has one loss, but they need to turn things around in a hurry.

Irvin said he can’t predict a Cowboys Super Bowl until the team stops playing 10 on 11 while on offense.

The former Cowboys star was referencing Williams, who has been a complete bust since coming over from Detroit.

Irvin said he believes rookie Dez Bryant needs to start over Williams, and if that happens, the Cowboys can be Super Bowl champions.

That’s all well and good, but the problem right now is that Bryant can’t seem to stay healthy enough to even get out on the field. 

Bryant has begun to run and cut on the ankle, but he is still a good ways away from any game action.

He has already been ruled out for the team’s third preseason game, so it’s looking unlikely that he will begin the season as a starter.

The wide receiver said that it’s frustrating to be stuck on the sidelines, but that he just has to remain patient and look at the big picture.

The battle for the starting job opposite of Miles Austin between Roy Williams and Bryant was supposed to be one to watch throughout camp.

He will make $11.8 million over five years, with $8.3 million of his contract being guaranteed.

Bryant is expected to have a big role in the Dallas offense and could beat out wide receiver Roy Williams for a starting job.

Now that Bryant has signed, that should start to get the ball rolling for other players drafted around him.

The teams, players and agents now have a good idea of what the parameters should be for a contract.

The two are now dating, which comes as news because Kardashian had been dating Reggie Bush for a few years.

Bush ended up winning the Super Bowl, claiming before the game he would propose to her if his team was victorious.

That didn’t happen, and now he may have lost his girl forever, although at least he still has the ring that really matters.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the Dallas locker room after the issues with Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson in past seasons.
